Lion of Judah ReviewPaul Wilbur's album was my first introduction to the messianic style of Christian worship. And what an introduction it was! The sound is so uniquely and distinctly Jewish, but it's a sound that is irresistably appealing and exotic. Combine this with deep, meaningful lyrics, many taken straight from the pages of scripture, and you get a sense for what it must have sounded like in the courts of King David as he performed the Psalms.
This music lends itself very easily to real worship. I have used this during our worship time with our small group bible study, and regularly "go to church" as I listen to this CD on my daily commute. It will touch your heart with songs of intimate praise like "Show Me Your Face" or "Dance With Me." It will bring joy to your heart as you ponder the glory of the risen Christ with "Prepare the Way" and "To Him Who Sits Upon the Throne." But best of all is the rousing finale and title track, "Lion of Judah," which anticipates the final glorification of the Messiah with overwhelming triumph and excitement!
