Creating God ReviewCreating God is one of David's earlier albums. It contains a number of pieces that are beautifully meditative and a couple that make you want to sing them at the top of your lungs to the world. "Song of the Body of Christ" has already become a classic Communion hymn in the Roman Catholic liturgy. Its beautiful lyrics and Hawaiian tune lend itself to easy singing while communicating the message of social justice that is inherent in the act of worship -- to praise God is to commit oneself to share one's whole life in service to others. "I Want to Call You," "The Lord Upholds My Life," and "They Who Do Justice," are all based on various psalms from the Old Testament and do a great job of capturing their meanings in metrically paraphrased verses and styles. This CD also includes David's "Mass of Light," with a rousing "Glory to God," and "Holy, Holy." The CD's title piece, "Creating God," is a hymn to the grandeur and profound humility of God who touches our lives in so many ways.
A fantastic CD overall, with good presentation and excellent choir support for the soloists throughout.Creating God Overview

Glory Day ReviewThe two Glory Day CD's were recorded live with a cast of fantastic musicians. Lori True has an amazing voice and Kate Cuddy's voice will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, it's so angelic. Both women's voices are very complimentary to David Haas and the those who sing with them.
The entire CD collection is fantastic, but my personal favorites are Magnificat, Onward to the Kingdom, and We Are Called. Who am I kidding?? I love both CD's!!
This is a must for anyone who wants to extend the peace and joy they feel after hearing David Haas music at Mass. I love to listen to the CD's while driving or unwinding at the end of the day.

I recently had the opportunity to see David Haas in concert in Indianapolis. It was an experience that I will not soon forget. It was fantastic!Glory Day Overview

Sing Out My Soul ReviewThe music on this tape will live until the end of time.
It's peaceful and soothing, and the words of the songs speaks millions to the listener. There is something for everyone here and the luxury of it all is the steellband music played throughout I Especially like "Hear Oh Lord", "How I Have Longed"
and "Sing Out My Soul To The Lord"
It's special and I have no choice but to give this CD 5 stars. This music was around since the 70's but still fresh as a rose.

You Are Mine: Best of David Haas Vol 2 ReviewFive stars aren't nearly enough; I wish I could at least double that amount! I was going through some very rough times this summer -- a realization that I suffered from deep depression and from an addiction which I'd struggled for years to deny -- when one Sunday, as our closing hymn at Mass, the congregation sang "You Are Mine". Intellectually, I guess I'd known the Scriptural truths proclaimed by that song since childhood, but now here they were, spoken in the first person as though by God, and directed to me! The Word of God beautifully set to music, proclaiming "Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by name. Come and follow Me and I will bring you home. I love you and you are Mine!" No, I'm not going to try to tell you that listening to that one song by itself changed my whole life or solved all my problems; that took much work, much time, and God's grace. But hearing this song certainly gave me a new and wonderful perspective on the reality of God's deep and unconditional love! I rushed out and bought the CD the next day, and was delighted to find the the rest of the tracks were just as uplifting. These songs are not "sappy" or overly emotional. Most are very peppy, set to a zesty instrumental accompaniment. There isn't a song on the CD that I skip over when I play it, but if I had to pick a second favorite, it would be "We Will Drink the Cup". This has become my personal battle song in the struggles I face, and I'm certain many others will say the same after they hear it. The chorus begins with a single female vocalist proclaiming: "We will drink the cup, we will win the fight; we sill stand against the darkness of the night! We will run the race, and see God's face, and build the kingdom of love!" After each verse, more and more voices join in this chorus until these powerful affirmations are sung in beautiful harmony by what sounds like an army of believers. Whenever I find myself struggling against the urge to just give-in or let go, I mentally play back that chorus -- " ... we will win the fight; we will stand against the darkness of the night ..." -- and find the strength to hang tough for just a while longer. David Haas has my undying gratitude for this priceless, wonderful gift! I recommend this CD for anyone who's having a bad day -- or a bad life, for that matter -- and needs powerful reassurance that the Lord truly cares!!You Are Mine: Best of David Haas Vol 2 Overview

Table of Plenty ReviewWhat a great religious CD from a cool priest! Father Talbot has a hit CD; sings, and plays his folk singer guitar too: features well-known Catholic hymns, excellent singing voice, superb orchestra arrangements--an easy listening, soothing, comforting CD. My personal favorites are Be Not Afraid, Here I am Lord, and On Eagle's Wings. The hymns Glory and Praise to Our God, We are One Body, One Bread, One Body are easily recognizable. Catholic Latin Classics ReviewFor those who have had enough of folk masses, youth masses, and "On Eagle's Wings" - as I have, since about 1988 - this is the antidote. I resent the 1960's generation who felt the need to throw out 1500 years of beautiful sacred music and replace it with the Paul Simon-like strains of "Here I Am Lord."
